Blessings from God…Our cabin along the Mississippi River and all that we have are blessings from God, the Creator of the universe.

Sometimes we take our many blessings for granted and fail to appreciate all that we receive as a result of His love for us.

My family has been blessed with a small cabin along the Mississippi River which my parents purchased in the 1980’s. Although rustic and small in size, our cabin is situated right on the bank of the river. It’s a place where you can gather with friends, and at the same time experience a certain tranquility and beauty, which I believe, can only be found along a body of water.

As the bible states, you need only look to nature to know that there truly is a God who created the universe. While some feel closest to God while in the mountains or in the desert, I always feel closest to Him when I’m around water. When you have a home or cabin along the Mississippi river, it’s easy to recognize God’s handiwork.  Wildlife and waterfowl abound here, and there’s nothing more tranquil than daydreaming as you watch the sunshine sparkle on the water while a blue heron flies overhead.

When it comes to human company, you won’t find people who are friendlier than those who have homes or cabins along the banks of the Mississippi. Whether towing you back to the dock after your boat stalls midstream, or helping you shovel mud and clean up debris after a flood, river people seem to have a heart for helping others.

Our cabin and the people we’ve met here throughout the years are only a few of the many blessings we have received in our lifetime. We hope that we may in turn be a blessing to you, and that we may in some way help you along your journey of faith and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

Through this site, we will share some of our experiences during the many years we have enjoyed our cabin, but we will also attempt to provide information and resources to any “water babies” or others out there who might be interested in learning more about our amazing God, but who might be hesitant…for whatever reason…to visit a local church. We hope that by sharing our thoughts and experiences,  we can encourage you to begin your journey to learn more about Him and the amazing gift He has to offer.

God loves you. He loves you where you are…as you are…and He has a wonderful plan for your future. We hope our site will encourage you to begin your journey and experience all that God has in store for you.
